Worst Movie Ever: "WWIII: Warhunt"

The film is about a group of secret agents sent behind enemy lines to retrieve a crashed plane filled with Nazi gold bars, only for the Nazis to attack and kill the group one by one. Theories that lead to a World War III and the revelation that Nazis have been working with aliens.

The film premiered on 3 March 2009 at Fantastic Fest 2009 in Austin, Texas, but was not released until 16 March 2010 by Atom Films after Warner Bros. asked for an additional six months to finish the project.

The film was released on DVD on 6 May 2010.

A film inspired by "WW III: Warhunt" began production in 2015, with a cast that includes Robert Knepper and Billy Drago, both of "Prison Break", and John Favreau.

The film was released on DVD on June 15, 2016, by Vindicator Video LLC.

The story has been told as a novel by Peter Lerangis under the title "WWIII". It is published through Sourcebooks Casablanca and is based upon the screenplay written by John O'Brien and Robert Lembeck.

The movie was produced in the same manner. The producers hired writer Gy W. Pincha to write a script that would be used as a guide for actor-scenarists and actors. An actual opening credit card was also used and given to one of the cast members for their own personal use during filming.

In 2010, director Philip Amara launched a Kickstarter campaign for funding the completion of two unfinished films, "WWIII: Warhunt 2" and "WWIII: The Last Witch Hunter". In 2016, the filming of "The Last Witch Hunter" began with production resuming after 16 years when it was left pending due to budget concerns. The film was released on January 20, 2017.

In 1964, a film treatment was written by Paul White entitled "War of the Worlds". The story concerns a Boston television station that is taken over by Martians and begins broadcasting an attack on Earth by the heat death of the universe in 2020.

The story also appeared in other media form including an episode of "The Outer Limits" entitled "The War of the Worlds" and made its way into video games such as "" and "Quake".
